Many Christians don’t understand the power of words. That our total salvation; [living and walking out a life of Christ], even possessing the promises of God, begin with the words we speak by faith. Day to day, Christians are loosely using words and don’t realize that there is another world out there that becomes active by the words we speak here on earth. Hebrews 11:3 teaches us that through faith we understand that the worlds were framed (fashioned, put in order, equipped for their intended purpose) by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Why? Because they took form from a word spoken first. In Matthew 16:19, Jesus said “that whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” This is not referring to Heaven; as in His throne, because there isn’t anything you need to bind there. This is speaking of a realm - a level of existence; although invisible to the natural eye, it is just as real as the world we live in. If we parallel the last scripture with Philippians 2:10 which says; “that every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”, we see that we are dealing with beings (supernatural beings) that are invisible but real, being are bound and loosed. So there are things in the heavenly realm, some fighting for you and some fighting against you.
My favorite passage when it comes to understanding the power of the spoken Word, is with the Centurion found in Matthew 8:8. This man had a servant that was sick and Jesus was on His way to his home. But the Centurion replied that he was unworthy that Jesus should come under his roof. But if Jesus would just speak the Word only, his servant would be healed. This man had a revelation of the power that words have and their ability to produce. In this case; not just words but the Word of God.
Our words determine what course of action the spirit realm can take here on earth. Your life goes in the direction of what you believe. Your belief will determine what you say. God has set you up; through Christ Jesus, so that you can live and experience a blessed, prosperous life, but your words could be the very thing that can hinder you from experiencing those blessings and promises. This is why as a believer you have to become conscience of your words.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Words are deadly, and they are also life giving. This is a consciousness that the Believer must walk in; that my very life is in my mouth. Nothing happens until you speak it first. You have angels on standby awaiting your orders. Right words produce right results. The converse is also true; wrong words produce wrong results. It is time for the believer to come out of the ignorance of saying one thing and expecting the opposite. In the end, you are your words.
